merry christmas

Dear Hudson & Miles,
We had so much fun celebrating Christmas as a family of four.  We made it to church Christmas Eve, although Hudson spent most of the service with Daddy running around in Theater 6.  Hudson opened a few presents earlier in the weekend and loved his "tatoes" from Aunt Karen.  Christmas morning was pretty low key with Hudson opening all the presents.  Miles just hung out and nursed all morning.  I made you boys matching pjs, which you looked super cute in.  Hudson calls all the presents that he got "special toys."  We had our tradition of monkey bread for breakfast, which was super yummy.
After naps for everyone, we went over to the Sonntags for dinner, where I forgot to take any pictures.  It was nice to be with our Colorado "family" since we couldn't be with our Wisconsin family.
Love,
Mommy

Oma comes to visit

Dear Hudson & Miles
Oma came to visit us a week and a half after Miles was born.  We were so thankful to have her help.  She and Hudson played together a lot, but she got some baby snuggles in after Hudson went to bed.  We celebrated Christmas with Oma and she got to go to breakfast with Santa.  We drove around and looked at Christmas lights and had hot chocolate.  Hudson and Oma also made some yummy Christmas cookies.
Can't wait until Oma comes back in February!
Love,
Mommy

breakfast with santa

Dear Hudson & Miles,
We got to attend our 2nd annual Breakfast with Santa (James) with K-group.  Oma got to come with us.  You were not a fan of Santa and wouldn't sit with him unless Daddy was with you.  Your friends did a book exchange this year.  We also had a fun reindeer ornament craft to make.  I love our fun holiday traditions.
Love,
Mommy

Meeting Big Brother and the First Few Days

Dear Miles,

Your big brother was so excited to come to the hospital to meet you.  He may have been more excited about the ice he got to eat while there, but he was still curious about you.  When he first came into the room, he hugged Mommy's belly because he thought you were still in there.  He liked holding you and also liked the magnet book you got for him.  Hudson gave you a toy bug that he picked out for your car seat.  We got to have a fancy dinner at the hospital as a family of 4.  Daddy and Hudson went home to get some sleep and I just got to hold you and look at you.

You were not the best sleeper that 1st night because your belly was bugging you.  I ended up sending you to the nursery for a few hours so I could get some sleep.  We got to head home early the next morning, which we were all excited about.

We had lots of visitors the first few days, who brought us dinner/lunch, and came to meet you.  All of k-group is excited that you are here.  Already we can tell you are a 2nd child because we keep forgetting to take pictures of you.  Something about chasing your big brother around.  You're an ok sleeper right now, but I'm sure that will change.
Love,
Mommy
