Family Vacation {Day 8}

Dear Hudson,
What a fun week we have had.  It was time to pack up and head home.  We drove through Grand Tetons National Park on the way home and got out a few times to look at the mountains.  We also stopped by an old fashioned town in the park.  We stopped at a brewery in Jackson so Daddy could sample their beers.  Then it was a long drive home.  We arrived home at midnight, with a little boy who had only slept for an hour in the car.  It was sure great to be back in our own beds.

Family Vacation {Day 7}

Dear Hudson,
On our last day at Yellowstone, we got up early to try and see some animals.  We drove the north loop of Yellowstone and were able to see some more elk and then lots of buffalo.  We got stopped in traffic while a mommy bear and a cub cross the bridge.  We went to the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and saw some more waterfalls.  We also made one last stop to see some geothermal features.  Then it was back to the campsite to play and start packing.  You had so much fun getting dirty and playing with trucks.
Love,
Mommy

Family Vacation {Day 6}

Dear Hudson,
After a good night of sleep, we got up and had a yummy breakfast.  You were not interested in eating breakfast, but just wanted to play trucks.  Then we headed out to catch Old Faithful erupting.  After that, we walked around and looked at all the geothermal features like mud pots and fumerals and hot springs.
We found a waterfall and you caught a nap while we were driving around the southern loop.  We had our first of many buffalo spottings.  We went to a ranger program at one of the campgrounds and learned about all the geothermal features from Ranger Carrie.  Then we stopped by Yellowstone Lake for a cookout.  You had fun playing trucks and got a rock throwing lesson from Daddy.  Then it was back to camp to get a good nights sleep, because we had another busy day planned.
Love,
Mommy
