playing

Dear Miles,
You are so much more alert these days.  You actually stay awake between feedings and are starting to play on the floor more.  You're a tummy time champ and also love to play on your activity mat.  You've just started to reach for things and sometimes you manage to hold on to a toy for a bit.  Big brother is getting more interested in you and will bring you a toy.  Sometimes even when you're upstairs napping, he decides you need your cow toy and will bring it to you.  You love watching him run around and always look for him when you hear his voice.
Love,
Mommy

hints of spring

Dear Hudson and Miles
We've been getting a few nice days lately and we're getting excited for spring.  We planted some seeds for the garden, and it's been fun to watch them start to grow.  Daddy took a morning off on a nice day so we could all go to the zoo.  Miles got to say hi to the monkeys and Hudson fed the giraffes.  Miles loves watching Hudson and follows his voice around the room.  Hudson has been enjoying picking matching clothes for you both.  He also brings Miles his cow when he's awake so he can play with it.  I love to see you two interact.   You're going to be the best of friends!
Love,
Mommy

Hudson Puppy

Dear Hudson,
You've decided that sometimes you like to be a puppy.  You will play fetch and chase a ball over and over, which is a great way to wear you out.  You also bark to let me know when something is happening, especially if you hear an airplane in the sky.  We've had to make some new family rules, like no barking at the dinner table.

So one day, I decided to pull out my dalmatians from when I was a kid and we had a puppy day.  We watched 101 dalmatians and then made treats for Sadie.  We also did a puppy craft.

I love how silly you are!
Love
Mommy

month 3

Dear Miles,
3 months already.  We've definitely moved out of the newborn phase and you're all baby.  You're such a happy, mellow guy as long as you're fed.  This last month we had some visitors and then we've just spent a lot of time at home because it's been snowing.  You went back to work with Mommy for the first time and did great.  All the ladies were so excited to meet you.  You're getting more interested in the things around you, especially that big brother.

Weight: I'm guessing over 12 pounds
Height: getting longer
Clothing Size: 0-3 month
Diaper Size: 1
Favorite Activity: looking and talking to cow
Sleeping:  you're a champ! 2 weeks ago you figured out how to sleep at night and now you're only up once a night and sometimes not at all.  I can usually get at least 1 super long nap in the afternoon and then your other naps are shorter.
Eating: every 3 hours and more often in the evening.  You are still pretty gassy sometimes and not happy about it.  And you still spit up a ton.
What You're Up To: watching big brother and puppy, talking to us and to your animals, rolling over from tummy to back, lots of smiles and daddy can usually get you to laugh.

Love,
Mommy

life in January and February

Dear Hudson and Miles,
We've been adjusting to life as a family of 4.  We've spent a lot of time at home because it's been cold and it's a lot of work to get us all out of the house.  It's been so fun seeing Hudson get more and more interested in Miles.  Mommy's had to be a bit more creative to keep Hudson entertained in the house all day.  We've managed to sneak out to the park or out back when it's been nice.
Love,
Mommy
