a trip to the farm

Dear Hudson,
We took a trip up to Miller Farms for a little family fall outing.  It was such a fun day.  We wandered through a corn maze, rode a little train,  and went out to the fields to pick some veggies.  Daddy did most of the picking, but we cheered him on.  We came home with lots and lots of yummy veggies.  The only downside of the trip was that you threw up on the way home.  You came down with the stomach flu that mommy had.  You and daddy were pretty sick the next day, but luckily I was feeling better to take care of you.

Dear Hudson,
We finally got to take you camping for the first time.  We went up to Aspen to see the fall colors.  We were about 2 weeks early, but some of the trees were starting to turn.  And it was already getting pretty cold at night (40 degrees!).  We had so much fun.  While you weren't the best sleeper, you weren't screaming at any point at night, so I think it was successful.  And of course we took lots of pictures.  We're looking forward to lots of camping as a family.

Dear Hudson,
Tonight, Evelyn came over for a few hours so her parents could go on a date.  You're not a fan these days of Mommy holding other kids and tonight was no exception.  So Daddy held her while you were still up.  You were pretty interested in her and seemed to be almost showing off a bit for her.  Sorry you had to go to bed and couldn't stay up to play with her more.  It probably was best, though, so I could get some good snuggles in with her and you wouldn't be jealous.
