Happy Halloween

Dear Hudson & Miles,
We had lots of fun celebrating Halloween as a family.  Hudson wanted to be Lightning McQueen so the rest of the family joined in and Miles was 'Mater and Daddy was Luigi and Mommy was Guido.  We went to Ella's house for dinner and then went around her neighborhood for trick-or-treating.  There even was a need for a pit stop and tire change while we were walking.  Good think Lightning McQueen has his pit crew along.  You boys are sure cute!

Dear Hudson & Miles,
This year, Hudson wanted to paint his pumpkin again.  You did a great job and even painted on a face all by yourself.  Miles enjoyed looking and touching the pumpkins too.

month 10

Dear Miles
You are on the move! You are all over the house now.  You've moved from scooting to real crawling this month and are getting quite speedy.  Lots of new things this month, including Mommy & Daddy's first night away from you (thanks Oma & Opa!).  You've started having some separation anxiety and cry when we drop you off in the nursery now.  You won't take a bottle these days, but you love any food so mama can get out and about more without you these days.  Pictures were hard to capture this month because you were on the move so much.

Here's what you're up to:
Weight: 18lbs
Height: ??
Clothing Size: 6-9 months finally because I'm sick of your smaller size.
Diaper Size: 3
Favorite Activity: crawling all over
Sleeping:  2 naps a day, usually the morning one is longer if we are at home.  Sleep is iffy at night.
Eating: You still love your mama milk and any food.  We are not sure how you're still so small.
Words: said Da-Da first and then Ma-ma a few days later.  You also say Uh-Oh over and over.
Teeth: 2 on the bottom.
What You're Up To: scooting and crawling all over, standing with help, playing with whatever brother has, chewing on lots of things

 

month 9

Dear Miles,
Summer has come to an end and you are already 9 months old.  It's been a busy month with your first camping trip, cutting your first 2 teeth and learning how to scootch on your belly across the floor.  You still love your johnny jump up and have learned to pick up your feet and swing.  We went to the movies as a family for my birthday and you did pretty well.  You're pushing up on hands and knees but no real crawling yet.

Here's what you're up to:
Weight: 17lbs ??oz
Height: ??
Clothing Size: 3-6 month
Diaper Size: 3
Favorite Activity: getting into whatever brother is playing with, playing with the big dinosaur
Sleeping:  same old same old.  not great but not horrible
Eating: favorites this month were puffs and watermelon
Teeth: cut 2 on the bottom
What You're Up To: sitting up and playing, scootching on belly across the floor, clapping, waving

 

month 8

Dear Miles
Eight months already.  Some days I still feel like you should be a newborn.  You're such a happy guy.  No stranger danger yet, but you do like being in the midst of all the activity.  Still no teeth but you're super drooly and chewing on everything.  This month included another airplane trip, a Vande Vacation and you survived your first car trip from Wisconsin to Colorado. 

Here's what you're up to:
Weight: 17lbs 8oz (just a guess. no official weight this month
Height:
Clothing Size: 3-6 month
Diaper Size: 2, but cloth all the time except for at night
Favorite Activity: swinging, talking to brother
Sleeping:  2 naps a day.  sometimes you sneak a third one in in the mornings since you like to start the day at 5am
Eating: Nursing about every 3 hours.  You love food.  You're favorites are steak, hamburger, applesauce, yogurt, watermelon, berries.  You've tried everything we've given to you.
What You're Up To: "swimming" on your belly, sitting up and playing, wishing you could crawl, trying to get brother's toys

Dear Hudson & Miles
It's fun to get to do things with Miles that we did when Hudson was a baby.  We took you both to a sky sox game the other night.  It was a late night, but a fun night too!  We had to recreate one of our favorite pictures of Hudson with Miles.  Daddy thinks you two look a lot alike from the side.

month 7

Dear Miles,
7 months old now.  It certainly has been a hot hot month.  Lot's of days with 90 degrees.  It was a sad month in our city as fires broke out and burned over 500 homes.  And we also remembered the fires from last summer.  Luckily, you know nothing of it and are still our happy little man.  Still no teeth, but Sophie the Giraffe is your best friend these days.  You've pushed up on your knees for a few seconds and even scooted backwards a few times.  I think Big Brother Hudson is in for a big surprise when you start moving.  Right now, he loves talking to you and you talk back to him.

Here's what you're up to:
Weight: 16lbs 2 oz
 Height: 26ish inches
Clothing Size: 3-6 month
Diaper Size: 2, but cloth all the time except for at night
Favorite Activity: chewing on Sofie the Giraffe or jumping in the johnny jump up
Sleeping:  the beginning of the month you were up a few times a night but now you're back to just once a night around 4.  You just started dropping that late afternoon nap so just 1.5 hours in the morning and afternoon.
Eating: Still a good nurser, but we have to go upstairs a lot so you can focus.  We started food this month.  You've tried: avocado, broccoli, sweet potato, mashed potato, egg yolk, watermelon, strawberry, zucchini, cucumber, blackberry, pears, steak, chicken.  You're a big fan of fruit and love avocado and broccoli,  You also loved the steak. 
What You're Up To: chewing on Sophie the Giraffe, talking a bunch, jumping in the johnny jump up and our arms and thinking about how to crawl.
